Accounting Lecture Series: Charles Landes
Charles Landes, Vice President Professional Standards and Services Group for the AICPA, will be the featured speaker at the 35th annual Accounting Lecture Series. He will discuss "The Profession of Auditing; How the ASB has Responded." The purpose of the series is to bring outstanding individuals in the areas of accounting and auditing to Chattanooga. Finance Speaker Series

The Department of Finance will host a Finance Speaker Series on Thursday, October 9th from 9am-5pm in the Auditorium of the University Center.  Dr. Bento Lobo will moderate a panel discussion on “The Financial Crisis: What are its causes? Can we fix it?” and “Professional Designations”.  Panelists include Christopher Hopkins - Barnett & Company, Jon Long - SunTrust Bank, Ben Miller -Unum, Ziad Keilany - UTC Economics Department.  Lauren C. Templeton, Founder and President of Lauren Templeton Capital Management LLC, and Scott Phillips, Portfolio Manager, Head of Research, Lauren Templeton Capital Management LLC, will speak about "Investing the Templeton Way” and “Hedge Funds”. College of Business Alumni Golf Tournament
Join business faculty and fellow alumni at Black Creek golf course for our alumni golf tournament! Entry fee is $75. Boxed lunches will be available at 11:30am. The tournament will start at 12:00pm. Entrepreneurial Forum:  Claude Ramsey, Mayor of Hamilton County TN
The Clarence E. Harris Entrepreneurial Forum is conducted every year by the Harris Chair to promote dialogue and interaction between students, faculty and entrepreneurs. Each year since 1996, a group of 9-12 entrepreneurs are invited to campus for a half-day program. Participants both interact informally with students and faculty, and conduct a panel discussion.

The breakfast kick-off session begins at 8:30am and will be held in the Tennessee Room of the UTC University Center. Breakout sessions will start at 10am in the Chattanooga Rooms of the UTC University Center. This event is open to students and the general public.
