Pre-Registration Advisement: Student Responsibilities

Students are responsible for:

  1. meeting with the academic adviser a minimum of ONE time per year during their assigned term BEFORE Priority Registration.
  2. attempting to create an academic plan for the next three to four semesters instead of just the next term.
  3. utilizing RAP sheets, path sheets, handouts, course catalogs and other online resources as a guide for creating their academic plan.
  4. arriving fully prepared with all requested documents for their meeting.
  5. keeping up with their approved academic plan and advisement codes.
  6. registering for their course selection
  7. meeting all current prerequisites and verifying the information is posted on their RAP sheet
  8. notifying the Adviser of any significant scheduling changes
  9. utilizing faculty to plan for careers, certifications, graduate school, etc.

NOTE:  Any deviation from an approved schedule may result in taking a course that does not apply toward your major or being dropped from a course at a future date.  Changes to current or future schedules may affect enrollment in other courses. Students should have a list of alternate courses for approval in case of scheduling conflicts or closed classes. Changes to any current or future schedules may affect enrollment in other courses.
