Pre-Registration Advisement: Meeting with the Adviser

During Pre-Registration Advisement, the Adviser will review the student's tentative academic plan for the next three to four semesters; verify course prerequisites and offerings; recommend any necessary petitions; and map out a path to graduation.

It is imperative that students:

  • Meet with the adviser during their assigned term BEFORE Priority Registration.
  • Arrive fully prepared with all requested documents for their meeting.
  • Keep up with their approved academic plan and advisement codes.
  • Utilize online resources for common information.
  • Notify the adviser of any changes to approved schedules.

Students who are not advised during their assigned semesters WILL NOT receive an advisement code until they have been officially advised.

Students who have any type of hold or are unsure as to their attending classes in the fall should still meet with an adviser to be prepared for if/when they decide to register for fall classes.
