Minors in Business
A student majoring in a non-business degree may pursue a minor in business administration, entrepreneurship or promotion. Please refer to the “BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION MINORS” section of the undergraduate catalog for more information.
Business Administration Minor
18 hours including:
Accounting 200 or 201;
Economics 102;
Management 315;
Finance 300 or 302*;
Marketing 313;
one additional course from the College
of Business at the 200-level or higher, excluding BMGT 211.
(Business administration courses begin with BACC, BETR, BFIN, BMGT, BMKT or BUSA.)
Entrepreneurship Minor
18 hours including:
Entrepreneurship 340 and 430;
Accounting 200;
Finance 300;
Management 103;
Marketing 313.
Promotion Minor
18 hours including:
Marketing 313, 361, 362, 365, 442, 450.
*Students may substitute any General Education approved statistics course in lieu of BMGT 211 as a prerequisite to Finance 302.
Please note the following about minoring in business:
- Students majoring in business can not minor in business.
- Additional coursework may be required to meet current prerequisites.
- All students must meet current prerequisites prior to enrolling in any business administration course.
- Prerequisites are based on the current catalog year.
- A minimum of 8 hours must be completed at the 300-400 level.
- A minimum of 2.0 grade point average must be maintained in the minor.
- Students not seeking a major in business administration may complete no more than 30 hours of course work in the College of Business.
