Step 3: Check your UTC e-mail account for your "Graduation Status Report".
A graduation counselor will verify a student’s eligibility for graduation and e-mail a "Graduation Status Report" (GSR) to the student's UTC e-mail account. The GSR will arrive as an attachment and will notify the student of any outstanding or missing degree requirements that remain for graduation. If you do not receive such a letter before the last day to add a class of your final semester, please call the Records Office at 423-425-4416 to request one.
Step 4: Order graduation invitations, cap, and gown.
Stop by the UTC Bookstore to purchase or order caps, gowns, invitations or diploma frames. Each March and October the Bookstore previews and offers discounts on select graduation merchandise during their semi-annual Graduation Celebrations.
Step 5: Take the UTC "Senior Exit Exam".
All first-time graduates are required to take the Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency Exam (Senior Exit Exam). Students are notified via e-mail when to take the Exit Exam. Exam dates are assigned by last name. If you do not receive such an e-mail by the last day to add a class in your final semester, please contact the UTC Testing Center at 423-425-4288.
Step 6: Participate in the graduation ceremony!
The Records Office coordinates the commencement ceremony. Details about the graduation ceremony are available at the Records Office web page or you may call 423-425-4416 to speak to someone in person.
