Double Majors in Business Administration
Students may choose to major in one or more areas of business while pursuing their B.S. in Business Administration at UTC. Often referred to as a "double major", students strategically use their general electives, upper-level electives and, in some cases, major electives to apply towards a second major in business.
Since a typical double major in business only adds a few hours or one more semester, many students automatically think pursuing a second major is a great idea. However, students should carefully consider how a double major will fit in with their long term goals. Will it be more beneficial to use elective hours to pursue the double major or a minor outside of business? Would it be better to spend the extra semester to study abroad, work for an internship or participate in a co-op? What about using electives to become proficient in a foreign language or developing other skills. Any of the options mentioned is a great way to further specialize your degree to your future goals.
Common double majors include:
- Accounting and Finance
- General Management and Human Resource Management
- General Management and Marketing
- Marketing and Entrepreneurship
