CFA Candidate Requirements
Prerequisites
No specific prerequisite courses of study are prescribed for enrolling in the CFA ® program.
Basic Entrance Requirements
To register in the CFA ® program, an applicant must:
- Have a U.S. bachelor’s degree OR non-U.S. equivalent; OR have four years of qualified professional work experience; OR have four years combined college and professional experience.
- Complete the registration form
- Pay the required fees
An official acceptance letter will be sent if all entrance requirements are met.
Examinations
You may enroll for only one exam at a time and must wait to receive your exam results before enrolling for the next level’s exam.
- Level I exam is offered annually in June and December.
- Levels II and III are offered only in June
Fee Requirements
- A one-time registration fee for new registrants ($390 )
- An enrollment fee for each level of the examination ($375)
CFA ® Institute Society Scholarships:
- Registration fees are waived (regularly $390)
- Enrollment fees are reduced to $150 (regularly $375)
- Available for Levels I, II, II
- Available for both June and December exams
- Candidates are responsible for purchasing their own curriculum materials
- Application for 2006 CFA Institute Society Scholarship.
