Adviser
The purpose of the Academic Advising Center is to provide students assistance with academic planning, pre-registration advisement and graduation planning. The Center is also responsible for verifying prerequisites, monitoring waiting lists, overriding closed classes, processing student petitions.
Nikki Ownby is the adviser of the College of Business Academic Advising Center. She is available year-round to discuss academic concerns, degree requirements, GPA concerns, petition requests and other academic or administrative needs. Business students are required to meet with the adviser at least once a year for Pre-Registration advisement.
The adviser maintains the COB Majors community on BlackBoard to communicate, inform and remind students of important matters such as:
- the Advising Center's office hours
- upcoming College of Business and campus events
- important deadlines
- internship or job opportunities
- scholarships
- curriculum changes
Business majors should log into the COB Majors community periodically to check the latest information.
