Michael Reece Cofer was awarded a prestegious Andy Holt Scholarship to attend the College of Dentistry at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. While at UTC Reece distinguished himself academically by earning a 4.0 GPA. Additionally, his research presentation, titled "Characterization Of The Tnxb Gene In Zebrafish", was awarded first place in Cell and Molecular Biology group at the the 118th meeting of Tennessee Academy of Science. Reece also completed an honors project titled "A Molecular Analysis of Skeletal Development Using Danio rerio as a Model". Dr. Ethan Carver was Reece's faculty mentor.
