Post Master's Certificate In School Leadership

The Post Master's Certificate Program in School Leadership is designed for persons who already have a master's degree in education but are interested in obtaining a license/certificate as a "School Administrator/Principal/Supervisor" (TN or GA). In most cases, the PMCSL student will need to take six to eight courses in addition to those taken in the previous master's program. An individual consultation with Dr. Vicki Petzko will clarify specific requirements.

What is most important is that you have 2 letters of recommendation from people who can support your candidacy as a future school leader. One of those letters must be from someone who will serve as your mentor through the field experience requirement. You must also interview.

Field Experience Requirement: Both programs require that the student complete substantive and meaningful field experience. It is in the student's best interest to begin these experiences at the beginning of his/her course of study. The requirement is explained in detail in EDAS 551 (Foundations).
